Boston Red Sox - Cardsplitter
Chicago Cubs - D. Cottilo
Cleveland Indians - Baseball Dad
Detroit Tigers - Grand Cards
New York Mets - The Brooklyn Met

San Francisco Giants - dgwbuck2
Seattle Mariners - Dan

Me:  Angels, White Sox, Reds, Rockies, Marlins, Astros, Dodgers, Royals, Twins, Brewers, Athletics, Padres, Rangers, Rays, Blue Jays, Nationals/Expos

Ok - it's time to finally rip these boxes that have been tempting me all week!

First pack:

1998 UD Collector's Choice

The '98 UD Collector's Choice has 14 cards per pack, 36 packs per box.  There are a few different inserts, seeded at the following rates:
1:3:  Super Action Stick-Ums
1:13:  Evolution Revolution
1::1 StarQuest Special Delivery
1:21:  StarQuest Students of the Game
1:71:  StarQuest Super Powers
1:145:  StarQuest Super Star Domain

For the first pack, I've scanned every single card pulled.  After this one though, I'll only scan a few (otherwise this thing will go on for months since I'll be busting over 1200 cards)!

Pack 1:
5.  Mark McGwire - Cover Glory Subset (Cardinals)

23.  Checklist (features Yankees on front and back - therefore, Yankees)

66.  Matt Karchner (White Sox)

96.  Kevin Brown  (Marlins)

118.  Todd Dunwoody -Rookie Class Subset (Marlins)

128.  Robb Nen (Marlins)

133.  Mike Hampton (Astros)

183.  Raul Casanova - Masked Marauders Subset (Tigers)

223.  Will Cunnane (Padres)

229.  Brian Johnson (Giants)

238.  Dan Wilson (Mariners)

251.  Pat Hentgen (Blue Jays)

SQ19.  StarQuest Special Delivery - Derrek Lee (Padres)

1 of 30.  Stick-Ums - Andruw Jones (Braves)

Overall, not a bad pack.  I loved this set as a kid - and I still get a kick out of pulling the sticker cards...Hopefully everyone who gets some of the Super Stick-Ums comes up with something creative to do with them (sounds like a good contest idea doesn't it)?  The backs of the cards are nice (I scanned one card back so you can get a feeling of what they look like).  I think this set is a great example of a perfect "low cost" set!

More pack breaks will be forthcoming this week!

  1. Nice start. I am looking forward to some D-backs in the next packs.
