There are only two packs left in the blaster, let's open one of them right now!
Pack 7:
39. Erick Aybar
The front of the card isn't anything special (most of the card fronts in this set aren't overly special). However, the backs of the cards in the set are almost all beauties. For instance, take a look at the back of Aybar's card. The write-up talks about the "Little Fella" doing the little things to help the team win (including bunting and stealing bases). The cartoon also talks about the little things, in this case, Erick's 25 sacrifices in 2009 and 2010. The whole card back comes together beautifully (like most of the card backs in the set - it's details like that that convinced me to collect the 2011 Heritage set). Well done, Topps, well done!
81. Jason Varitek
97. Grady Sizemore
The first duplicate for me out of this pack...
195. Paul Konerko
349. Jeremy Bonderman
367. Dan Uggla
398. Joey Votto
413. Chris Young
TN-3. Then & Now: Frank Robinson & Josh Hamilton
Normally, I'd be ecstatic about pulling two Reds (a Votto and a insert card) in a single pack. However, I already had the Votto All-Star card, and the Robinson/Hamilton card arrived via trade a few days ago - so that too is a double. Couple those two with the Grady Sizemore that I already had and this pack ends up being one of the least useful packs in terms of helping out with my set!

I already had this one, but if I have to end up with duplicates, Votto's as good a choice as any! |
