Delivery Time! Off the Wall, In The Binder.

It's been a crazy few weeks for me - mostly because of my own schooling but also because of writing finals and grading for the classes that I'm currently teaching...but luckily for me after this week is over things will sloooowwwww way down - which, personally, I cannot wait for!

Because of my busy schedule, trading has taken a bit of a back seat lately - but I haven't forgotten about trading altogether, it's just a much slower process than usual!  Anyhow, one such drawn out trade was recently completed with Shane over at Off the Wall.

I sent Shane a Ginter relic and some Ginter minis - in exchange, he sent me a whole bunch of assorted goodies from my want list along with some other cool cards.  Here are my five favorites from the trade:

#5:
2011 Topps:
Diamond parallel:
636.   Chris Tillman

I'm still (slowly) working my way to completion for the Diamond parallel set - right now I still need a boat load more though....If you have any of the following diamond parallels, I'd love to work out a trade:
 83, 138, 186, 306, 334, 338, 339, 342, 343, 344, 349, 351, 352, 356, 359, 362, 364, 366, 369, 370, 371, 376, 377, 378, 379, 380, 381, 383, 385, 388, 389, 390, 393, 396, 397, 400, 401, 402, 403, 407, 408, 412, 414, 415, 418, 419, 420, 421, 424, 429, 431, 432, 434, 438, 440, 442, 444, 448, 450, 452, 453, 455, 456, 458, 462, 464, 466, 471, 472, 473, 477, 478, 482, 483, 484, 493, 494, 504, 506, 509, 511, 517, 518, 520, 522, 524, 527, 528, 529, 531, 532, 533, 534, 537, 540, 543, 545, 546, 547, 548, 550, 551, 553, 555, 557, 559, 560, 561, 569, 570, 572, 573, 579, 580, 581, 582, 584, 587, 589, 590, 593, 594, 595, 596, 600, 601, 602, 603, 605, 606, 607, 610, 611, 612, 615, 617, 621, 622, 626, 627, 630, 631, 633, 635, 637, 639, 640, 643, 645, 646, 647, 649, 650, 651, 652, 654, 657
#4:
1985 Topps
401.  Mark McGwire

It's amazing how far McGwire has fallen...about a decade ago this probably would have been the most prized card in a trade - now it ranks barely ahead of your every day Diamond parallel card...  Of course, it doesn't help McGwire's case that he played for two teams that I always found myself rooting against (the A's - especially in 1990) and then the Cardinals (for the better part of the last decade at least).  Even so, I'm glad to be able to add this card to my set - it was one of the few remaining empty spots in the binder!

#3:
2009 Topps Heritage:
659.  Rafael Soriano

Here's another set that I've really stalled out on...in fact, it seems that most of my 2008 and 2009 sets have pretty much slowed to a halt in terms of trade offers.  I guess no one is opening discounted blasters of UD Timelines or Topps Stadium Club anymore?  That's a bummer for me!  What isn't a bummer though, is when someone does offer me up a card from one of those sets, and it's even better when it is a pesky short print!

#2:
2011 Topps Allen & Ginter:
Relic:

AGR-DS.  Drew Stubbs

I don't care that this is a white swatch - it's a relic from my favorite brand of a player from my favorite team.  That's hard to beat!

...but Shane did manage to beat that by including...

#1
2008 Topps Allen & Ginter:
Auto - through the mail?
285.  Brandon Phillips

How about a full-size, on card auto of one of my favorite Reds of the past decade?  I don't ever try to get through the mail autos, nor do I make an effort to collect them - but if they all were as nice as this Ginter card I would definitely change my mind!  What a nice lookin' card!

Thanks for the great trade Shane!  And, as always, if anyone else would like to trade - check out my want list and make an offer!

  1. I have some sparklies you might need, if you want to check my picasa. I don't have the numbers listed but you can probably figure it out. I looked up one (Michael Morse) and it is one you need.

  2. Hey there, you mentioned that you had a long list of diamond sparkles and topps town that you were after. I'm at work and can't check the numbers at the moment, but I've got quite a few of both in my trade bait collection. If you're interested, take a look.
