2000 Fleer Gamers: Packs 13, 14, 15, and 16

Let's keep the break going with another four packs - this time out of the Fleer Gamers box.

Pack 13:
23.  Geoff Jenkins - Brewers
67.  Kenny Lofton - Indians
70.  Chipper Jones - Braves

83.  Carlos Delgado - Blue Jays

Not the best selection of players - but that makes determining the pack winner easy!  Congrats to the Braves on their fourth pack win of the break thus far.  At this point, only the Royals, Dodgers, and Brewers are without a single pack win.

Pack 14:
 21.  Jason Giambi - Athletics
33.  Mike Piazza - Mets

50.  Dean Palmer - Tigers
72.  Robin Ventura - Mets

If I had paid full retail for this pack back in 2000 and opened it up to find two of the four cards being Mets, I'm willing to bet I never would have bothered trying a second pack.  The Mets get the pack win though so at least there's that for New York.

Pack 15:
63.  Mark Grace - Cubs

71.  Jeff Cirillo - Rockies
75.  Ben Grieve - Athletics
96.  Next Gamers:  Joe Crede - White Sox

The White Sox win the pack with the Next Gamers short print (seeded 1:4 packs).  However, despite the Sox win, I had to scan the back of the Mark Grace card simply because it made me laugh when I first saw it.

Pack 16:
27.  Roberto Alomar - Indians
41.  Andruw Jones - Braves
81.  Adrian Beltre - Dodgers
113.  Fame Game:  Mark McGwire - Cardinals

The Cardinals win this pack easily - especially since the Fame Game short prints are fairly rare (seeded 1:10 packs) for a subset that is numbered as part of the regular base set.  The card has a bit of a raised texture on the "Fame Game" lettering.

Overall, that wasn't a bad selection of packs.  We hit two short prints plus some fairly decent players (and a pretty good selection of teams, even if there were no Reds this time around).  It should be mentioned that the Pirates (!) are currently leading all the teams in total number of base cards.  I don't think that's ever happened for one of my breaks, so that's kind of cool...and even better is that someone claimed the Pirates this time around (which makes the accomplishment so much sweeter - at least for now)!
