It's time to bust the hobby box only Pinstripe Exclusive pack (3 cards of either Mantle or DiMaggio) plus another couple of regular packs from the Upper Deck Decades box. First, we'll start with the Pinstripe Exclusive pack. If we are lucky, we will find some type of hit in the pack...
No hit, but still some nice looking cards. I'm not awarding the Yankees a "pack win" for this pack since only Yankees are included in the pack! Still, that's a nice little assortment of some rather hard to find cards for the New York pile! The cards will count as Yankee inserts though for the Group Break statistics.
And now for the two regular packs.
Pack 5:
27. Carlton Fisk - Red Sox
53. Joe Torre - Cardinals
121. Ron Blomberg - Yankees
147. Carlton Fisk - Red Sox
173. Gen Tenace - Athletics
A pair of nice Fisk cards gives the Red Sox their second pack win of the break. I posted the night card since I know a certain collector who likes night shots...
Pack 6:
51. Don Money - Brewers
77. Jon Matlack - Mets
117. Roberto Clemente - Pirates
143. Jim Perry - Twins
169. Bruce Sutter - Cubs
I'm giving this pack to the Mets just because of Matlack's photo. How ballsy was he having his photo taken in front of Seaver's locker? With a career record of 125-126, I'm not even exactly sure why he's in a set with guys like Clemente and Sutter but hey, who am I to judge?
