A TCDB Surprise Card from mpdillard25!

Group Break #5: 2002 Fleer Box Score - Packs 8, 9, and 10

Before I get to this morning's packs, I need to give a quick shout out to my sister who is celebrating her birthday today (even if she doesn't read my blog)!  Now, on to the packs!

Pack 08:
47.  Troy Glaus - Angels
56.  Roger Clemens - Yankees
65.  Ryan Klesko - Padres
71.  Jeff Bagwell - Astros
87.  Jose Vidro - Expos
96.  Alex Rodriguez - Rangers
147.  Elio Serrano - Phillies #1182/2499

The Serrano card is part of the Rookie/Prospects short printed subset (all of which are numbered out of 2499).  With that card, there are now 21 out of the 30 teams that have at least one serially numbered card from the break.  Of those 21 teams, 14 of them have at least two serially numbered cards!

Pack 09:
3.  Nomar Garciaparra - Red Sox
33  Mike Lieberthal - Phillies
37.  Wade Miller - Astros
57.  Jimmy Rollins - Phillies
78.  Trevor Hoffman - Padres
85.  Jacque Jones - Twins
8 of 15 BSD.  Box Score Debut:  Kevin Mench - Rangers #1753/2002

The Box Score Debut cards are all numbered out of 2002 and feature an actual box score from the player's debut.  In Mench's case, he ended up going 0-4 (and was removed for a pinch hitter in the 11th) enroute to his Rangers losing 5-4 in 11 innings.  Not the best debut - but a pretty cool card!  According to the wrapper, the box score cards don't count as "hits."

Pack 10:
8.  Paul Konerko - White Sox
13.  Barry Zito - Athletics
42.  Preston Wilson - Marlins
44.  Greg Maddux - Braves

61.  Jeromy Burnitz - Mets
82.  Aubrey Huff - Rays
99.  Torii Hunter - Twins

Not much to speak of in that pack - I guess the Maddux is nice enough.
