A TCDB Surprise Card from mpdillard25!

Group Break #5: 2003 Fleer Authentix - Packs 17, 18, 19, and 20

Happy Tuesday ya'll.  It's time for another bunch of packs from the group break - four packs to be more precise.

Pack 17:
8.  Luis Gonzalez - Diamondbacks
53.  Bobby Abreu - Phillies
67.  Mike Piazza - Mets
70.  Greg Maddux - Braves
2 of 15 TS.  Ticket Studs:  Greg Maddux - Braves

It's a Greg Maddux hot pack, isn't it?  That's the Braves first insert card (non-serially numbered) of the break according to my spreadsheet that I keep by hand...no team has more than two non-serially numbered inserts though since this wasn't an insert heavy bunch of boxes.

In case people have missed previous posts, I will point out that the Diamondbacks, Reds, Dodgers, Mets, Cardinals (x3), Rangers (x2), and the Blue Jays all have a hit so far in the break.  Make sure you go back through the archives (plenty of group break posts) to see what each team ended up with - two of the teams landed triple relics!

Pack 18:
1.  Derek Jeter - Yankees

34.  Tim Salmon - Angels
41.  Omar Vizquel - Indians
91.  Mike Lowell - Marlins
105.  Hee Seop Choi - Cubs

The Jeter gives the Yankees over 35 base cards for the break - which along with their 6 serially numbered card plus their one insert means the Yankees have done quite well for themselves!

Pack 19:
17.  Magglio Ordonez - White Sox
56.  Gary Sheffield - Braves
82.  Eric Chavez - Athletics
84.  Mark Prior - Cubs
10 of 10 BC.  Ballpark Classics:  Ichiro - Mariners

The Ballpark Classics are really nice inserts - and die-cut to boot.

Pack 20:
30.  Josh Beckett - Marlins
49.  Adam Dunn - Reds

74.  Austin Kearns - Reds
78.  Jorge Julio - Orioles
104.  Chris Snelling - Mariners

A great little pack for me as I have both the Mariners and the Reds in the group break.  If I had purchased a pack of Authentix containing a pair of Reds, there would have been a much better chance that I would have tried to complete the set.  Instead, I bought a couple of crappy packs back in '03 and never touched the product again until this group break.
