We opened one full box this morning, let's see if we can do another one this afternoon!
Box #7:
Box topper:
N43:
N43-3. Don Mattingly - Yankees
A nice score for the Yankees (and thus for DutchCardGuy). The N43s will all be mailed to group break participants, only the much larger cabinet cards stay with me (as per the original sign-ups).
Pack 01:
What's in a Name: 2. Carlos Gonzalez - Rockies
Reg. mini: 134. David Freese - Cardinals
Pack 02:
Baseball Sketch: 18. Ozzie Smith - Cardinals
Base SP: 338. Prince Fielder - Brewers
Military Leader: Saladin
Pack 03:
What's in a Name: 39. Monte Irven - Giants
Reg. mini: 264. Brian McCann - Braves
Framed relic: AGR-CZ. Carlos Zambrano - Cubs
Oh man. The Cubs rack up their FOURTH relic of the break. This one has what looks like a bit of paint on the inside of the protective plastic but it's still a nice card. Now if only I knew why Topps included so many Cubs in the set (esp. guys who aren't even Cubs anymore)!
Pack 04:
Willow Cove: Footprints
Base SP: 313. Carlos Pena - Rays
Reg. mini: 28. Dustin Ackley - Mariners
Pack 05:
What's in a Name: 87. Joey Votto - Reds
Reg. mini: 197. Ty Cobb - Tigers
Pack 06:
Historical Turning Points: Declaration of Independence
Base SP: 305. Wilin Rosario - Rockies
A&G back mini: 226. Jim Thome - Phillies
Pack 07:
What's in a Name: 63. Rod Carew - Angels
No number mini: John Axford - Brewers
Alright, our second no number mini of the case! This one goes out to Brad and is his third big score of the break (the others being a framed relic and a black bordered short print)!
Pack 08:
Willow Cove: Bloody rag
Base SP: 304. Kyle Farnsworth - Rays
A&G back mini: 91. Grady Sizemore - Indians
Pack 09:
What's in a Name: 50. Mike Schmidt - Phillies
People of the Bible: Jesus
I would assume that Jesus is probably the most sought after card in the People of the Bible set, right?
Pack 10:
What's in a Name: 24. Ian Kinsler - Rangers
A&G back mini: 142. Jose Reyes - Marlins
Pack 11:
Willow Cove: Shattered display case
Base SP: 322. Sergio Santos - Blue Jays
Black border mini: 71. Curtis Granderson - Yankees
Pack 12:
What's in a Name: 11. Torii Hunter - Angels
Man's Best Friend: German Shepherd
Now that we have started the second half of the break, it's getting closer to crunch time. Which teams will score big hits? Who will end up with the rip card (that should be lurking in one of the remaining 5.5 boxes)? So many questions, so little time. Stay tuned to the 'ol blog for more!
