My Topps Allen & Ginter Case Results

You've all seen the results of the group break Allen & Ginter case (and if you haven't, go back through the archives as it was a great case)!  Now it's time to look at some of the goodies from my own case.

The best card (in terms of eBay) was a Yu Darvish autograph.

I listed it on eBay as soon as I pulled it and it's already been sold (and shipped).  Luckily for me, I'm not a Rangers fan (if I were, it'd be quite the dilemma of "to keep or to sell").  I was hoping to pull some stuff to help recover my costs - actually, to help me earn money towards next year's case - and that Darvish provided about a quarter of what I'll need for a case of 2013 Ginter.

Even better, the Darvish wasn't the only good card in the case.  The next group of cards are also already on eBay - so jump in and bid (or buy now) if you are so inclined!

I ended up with one silk - this one of Desmond Jennings from the Rays.

I think the silk cards are really nice - and if I had more money, I'd go after a full set of them!  Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of coin so the silk ended up on eBay.

My case yielded three of the no number minis:

As you can see, no big names but hopefully they'll sell as well.  It's always kind of sad to sell off cards from my case but it's the only way I can afford to buy cards!

I also got the one-per-case Colony in a Card (which is already sold as well).

It's really sad how the one-per-case Colony cards are selling for as little as $5.00.  I don't think the cards were worth it for Topps to produce!

That's it for stuff that I've put on eBay - but it's not all of the good stuff from the case.  I didn't do great with box toppers except for one...

The Currency of the World cards are awesome.  I wrote about my coin collection yesterday - this is a perfect melding of two different collections.  In fact, it's so awesome I can't decide whether I should sell it or not - they don't go for a lot of money but every bit of cash does help...It is super eBay mojo though since it's numbered 1/50, right?

The other big hit from the case (since I didn't get a rip card) was this Allen & Ginter original of the New Zealand Parrot.

The actual original Ginter card on the inside is in pristine condition, certainly much, much better than any of the original Ginter cards in my collection up until this point.  Once again, I'm torn between sell or don't sell.

After the Darvish auto, currency card, and the parrot, the quality of the case dropped off considerably.  My relics weren't nearly as good as the group break case (and I ended up with duplicates of Mike Morse and Corey Hart - yuck).

All things considered, I was quite happy with the case, the lone disappointment was that I didn't get a rip card (though Topps has promised to send me one in the next couple of weeks).  I seem to have terrible luck in regards to rip cards, my last two cases have been missing one!  Luckily, the group break case had a rip card at least, even if it wasn't a Red!

At this point, I have a bunch of duplicates available for trade - plenty of base cards, lots of short prints, and a few minis and other inserts.  As I mentioned earlier, I also have some stuff up on eBay right now so check that out as well!
