I have so many different ideas that I would love to post about on my blog. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find much motivation to do any actual research right now, so you get the next best thing: a trade post!
Each year, I make a bunch of resolutions (see my resolutions for 2012 here). One of the resolutions that I make to myself is that I'll finally make my blog a stop worth visiting for everyone on a daily basis. For much of the summer, I seemed to do that since I was averaging triple the number of daily blog hits as compared to now.
However, life gets in the way (or at least I should say work gets in the way since I don't teach in the summer). As such, my blog did dissolve into a sad mess of meaningless posts with occasional Barry Larkin cards popping up.
Well, I still want to turn my blog into a worthwhile destination, and you know what, I think it's finally starting to become that. In fact, I have had a number of people thank me for my Box Review series - a resource that I hope will be valuable to anyone looking to bust boxes of cards! I've also begun to go through my complete sets in a series that I (not-so-cleverly) named Complete Set Chronicles.
Both of those resources take a bit of time to complete on my end, but the result is worth it! My eventual goal for the two pages is for them to be the "go to source" for people who wish to host (and/or join) group breaks! It's a lofty goal, and with a limited budget I'm not sure how many boxes I'll be able to add to the page, but still, it's something fun (and ideally useful) for me to do!
Another reference that I've been working on is my Barry Larkin Collection.
Admittedly, the series of posts (each of which highlights a single Barry Larkin card in my collection) is more of a resource for me than it probably is for anyone else. However, I have had a few people tell me that they found that bunch of posts useful as well. I guess it's the teacher in me that wants each of my posts to have some sort of meaning or value.
As you can probably tell by the typical tone of my writing, I have a bit of a self assessment complex. I'm constantly wishing that I could be a better writer! I think that I've had that same feeling all of my life though, going all the way back to when my mother used to make me write thank you notes for various gifts I received for holidays. I only thought of that because to this day I still write thank you notes to people who give me things for the holidays. My birthday was last month (hey, I didn't say I was efficient at writing them) so I finally got around to writing my thank you notes yesterday. And yes, I think my writing is probably only about 5% better or so than it was when I was about 5 years old. Arrg!
It's not all doom and gloom in terms of my writing though. In fact, I managed to weave four different cards into a narrative without once mentioning that they were my trade loot from Jon over at Community Gum. Nope, I didn't even mention the fact that that mini Gypsy Queen Barry Larkin card was one of the red Gypsy Queen backs.

I think you write just fine and I enjoy the ramblings, being a rambler myself. We aren't professional writers, though there are a few out there, and I don't think anyone would be fooled into thinking that most of us sports card bloggers are. But striving to make yourself and your creations better is still a fairly noble endeavor. Keep up the good work!!
