One of the Best Pitcher Cards I've Ever Seen...(followed by one of the WORST pitcher cards I've ever seen)!

I'm hoping to have all five group break boxes completely busted by the end of the week. If I do that, I'll be able to spend next week sorting and packing up cards with the final goal of shipping all group break cards no later than Friday of next week. It's an ambitious goal...especially with my hectic work schedule this week...but I think I have a decent chance of being successful.
Of course, in order for that to happen I need to fly through the remaining packs...here's a couple more Topps Gallery to get us closer to completion!
Pack 07:
9. Greg Maddux - Braves
This is an awesome card (and that's coming from someone who never liked Maddux)! You don't often see a pitcher on the base paths on a card...and this might be the only card where the pitcher is breaking up a potential double play with a serious attempt!
52. John Olerud - Mets
63. Gary Sheffield - Dodgers
73. Randy Johnson - Diamondbacks
95. Orlando Hernandez - Yankees
133. Carlos Pena - Rangers
Pack 08:
27. Ken Caminiti - Astros
38. Rondell White - Expos
67. Mike Mussina - Orioles
This has got to be one of the all-time worst images ever used on a baseball card! Who wants to see that?!
90. Dean Palmer - Tigers
92. Andruw Jones - Braves
111. Barry Bonds - Giants
Each pack of Topps Gallery has a high number "short print" of sorts. The options are Masters, Artisans, or Apprentices. Bonds is obviously a Master card (the Pena from above was an Apprentice card).

Man, you think that Mussina is bad. I ran across a '91 Topps Jim Deshaies card the other day. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteOMG - that Maddux has to be one of the best images I have ever seen on cardboard. That is going on my most needed commons list.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! That Mussina card must have been a big hit when it showed up on his door. That would be funny to get TTM'd.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder when I see cards like the Mussina, "What pictures didn't make the cut?"
ReplyDeleteIt's not like he was a nobody, I'm sure that wasn't the only photo they had.
The Mussina is awesome, it captures him checking the runner at first before he starts his actual pitching motion from the stretch.
ReplyDeleteOh great so that Mussina card has two backs and no front? :D
