A TCDB Surprise Card from mpdillard25!

Gint-a-Cuffs: Polar Vortex Makes for a Great Card (but Bad Weather)

Another morning, another pair of Gint-a-Cuffs packs.  At the moment, my box total is 72 points - and that's with two more hits still (hopefully) lurking within the packs in the box.  Let's see if we find one of those hits today!

Pack 9:
37.  Wil Myers
145.  Derek Jeter
172.  Andrelton Simmons
179.  Chris Archer
207.  Justin Upton
302.  Polar Vortex
Natural Wonder:  Giant's Causeway
Reg. mini:  143.  Eddie Mathews
My scanner cut off the top but who cares when it's just Jeter and some rocks?

Let's see - the Jeter is a Yankee...which means I lose a point right off the bat.  The Polar Vortex is a short print (and an awesome card) which is worth two points along with the Natural Causeway card.  Net result?  Three lousy points.

Pack total:  3 points
Running total:  75 points

That pack really hurt my points per pack average!  Let's hope Pack 10 has something better.

Pack 10:
12.  Jedd Gyorko
148.  Bryce Harper
199.  Joe Mauer
267.  Kevin Clancy
268.  Jarrod Parker
337.  Josh Donaldson
Festivals & Fairs:  5.  Pingxi Lantern Festival
A&G back mini:  233.  Dan Straily

Well, this pack didn't have any negative point cards so that's good at least.  The Festivals card is +2, the Donaldson short print is another +2.  The A&G back mini is +2 as well.  Put it all together and you get a full six whopping points.

Pack total:  6 points
Running total:  81 points

In a word:  ouch!  Those two packs were brutal for my Gint-a-Cuffs box.  What started out so promising is quickly falling apart.  However, there's still hope seeing as how I've only uncovered one of my three promised hits in the packs.

  1. You're still not even halfway through the box and you're at 81. You're doing fine.
