New Box Rip Time!

At the end of 2017, I wrote about the one box of baseball cards that I received for Christmas last year - a box of 2000 Fleer Tradition.  I've already opened up a couple of boxes of 2000 Tradition over the year, but I'm still missing a ton of cards from the set (which is why I asked for yet another box of the stuff).  For future reference, here is what I currently need from the set heading into the box rip.
Fleer Tradition Wants:Base:  1, 11, 14, 16, 19, 24, 42, 52, 53, 68, 69, 75, 80, 84, 89, 120, 123, 131, 133, 136, 146, 147, 150, 166, 168, 186, 199, 219, 222, 231, 232, 240, 243, 246, 260, 268, 273, 294, 311, 317, 321, 323, 329, 335, 338, 340, 341, 360, 366, 370, 380, 384, 399, 405, 445
Who to Watch:  4, 8, 13
Dividends:  1, 3, 7, 12, 15
Ten-4:  1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9
It is obviously my hope that the above list will be much, much smaller by the time the box rip is over!  Based on the stated pack odds, I should find two Ten-4 cards in my box, 6 Who to Watch cards, and 6 Dividends cards.  I'll have to be awfully lucky to complete the Dividends (and I won't finish off the Ten-4 insert) but I should have a decent shot at getting the final three Who to Watch cards, right?

Only one way to find out - and that's to start ripping packs.

Pack 1:
12.  John Rocker
41.  Alfonso Soriano / D'Angelo Jimenez
42.  B.J. Surhoff

Yes, first card I needed!
180.  Kevin Appier
185.  Jim Parque
233.  Magglio Ordonez
259.  Bartolo Colon
278.  Ron Gant
386.  Dave Martinez
Who to Watch:  9.  Alfonso Soriano

Well, I got one new card out of that pack - but with 36 packs in the box if I can get at least one new card per pack I'll do okay overall.  Any duplicates from this box are available for trade - so let me know if you are interested in cards from the set!

  1. Starting off well, should be a fun rip. Severely lacking in Angels, any of your dupes would be appreciated.

  2. I love that set! Let me know if you end up with any D-Backs dupes and we can work out a trade.

It sounds silly given how much Topps does Archive-ing and Throwback-ing... but I kinda miss other companies doing their own "homage" to Topps designs.

  4. I will have a ton of duplicates since I have over 75% of the base set (before ripping the box). I'll put together a list at the end, all duplicates will be available for trade!
