Delivery Time! Some Hits from the Iron Lion

Yesterday, I talked a little bit about the Iron Lion group that I now belong to on Facebook.  Basically, they are a brand new hobby shop who (successfully) drummed up a lot of interest by holding a bunch of free giveaways and box breaks prior to their store opening.

I was lucky enough to get in on some of the freebie action - some of which I showed off yesterday while I have some more goodies today.  I also decided to support them and grabbed a spot in a MLB mixer break...that ended up being a mistake (from a monetary standpoint) but I'll post my so-called "haul" another day for that.  Today's post is much more positive...I mean, how can one complain about free cards?!

Also:  I don't mind that the paid spot that I bought ended up being a dud - I'd say the good folks over at the Iron Lion definitely earned my dollars thanks to all of the freebies that I've also landed recently!

Let's start with the final football card that I've won (to date) from the group:  a Stepfan Taylor bit of cloth from 2013 Panini Momentum Football.

I have no allegiance to this card so it's definitely available for trade should anyone be interested.

My other big hit from the Iron Lion (so far) was another freebie...

Yeah, that's much more my style!  Jose Peraza may yet become a good player, I'm not totally sure...but I do know that I love the look of the insert (especially with that nice bit of patch in two of the five boxes).  Very cool stuff!

As I said earlier, the folks at the Iron Lion held a few free group breaks with random teams assigned to each participant.  I was able to get myself involved in one such free break where I ended up with the Cubs and the Mets.  Although neither team hit anything super awesome, I definitely could have done much worse in terms of the teams I was given (more on that in a different post...).

The highlight of the break was probably that Wilson Contreras shiny rookie card numbered 13/35.  I have to say, I really do like the design of the 2016 Bowman's Best cards!

The only other card of note from the break was a cracked ice (I'm sure that's not the real name) parallel of Michael Conforto, also a rookie card (which makes sense since this is a Bowman product).

And finally, one card to show off just because my wife like Jacob DeGrom for reasons that I can't quite understand...

Thanks again to everyone over at the Iron Lion.  I definitely appreciate your generosity and I wish you all the best with your new business!
