Group Break: Moving on to Box #4 of the Break!

Yesterday, we polished off the box of 1998 Pacific Paramount.  Today, we travel back in a time a few more years and arrive at our box of 1995 Score Summit.  The Summit set is basically a high-end version of Score's regular base set.  One of the defining characteristics of the set is the higher quality card stock and the minimalist design.  If you haven't seen cards from this set before, I think you'll like them for their classic simplicity.

1995 Score Summit:
Pack 1:
38.  Ray Lankford - Cardinals

156.  Allen Battle - Cardinals
151.  Brad Clontz - Athletics

This box has a lot of rookies in the base set - but as I opened the box up on video I noticed some of the rookies didn't seem to match the expected team.  For example, this Clontz has the Athletics logo on it rather than the Braves (the team he is pictured playing for).  Like most group break hosts, I go by the team name or team logo rather than the pictured team, so Mr. Clontz is in the Athletics pile.

188.  Joe Carter - Blue Jays
76.  Bobby Bonilla - Mets
134.  Bob Higginson - Tigers
Nth Degree parallel:  122.  Garret Anderson - Angels

The Nth Degree parallels are seeded 1:4 packs and they are super sparkly!

Pack 2:
33.  Derek Bell - Astros
136.  Armando Benitez - Orioles
99.  Dennis Eckersley - Athletics

The card backs are nice enough with a secondary picture plus some statistics displayed rather interestingly.

80.  David Cone - Blue Jays
130.  Charles Johnson - Marlins
75.  Dave Winfield - Indians
179.  Barry Bonds - Giants

Not a bad pair of packs to start us off.  I'll have plenty more from this box in upcoming posts but two packs are going to have to suffice for now. Happy Friday everyone!

Comments

  1. Too much foil on that nth degree card! I can't read Garret Anderson's name.
