Group Break: Nearing the End of Pacific Paramount (Die-Cut Spotted!)

We are nearing the end of our third box of cards from the group break.  At some point in the very near future, I really need to start organizing what we've already opened by team or else I'll be exceedingly ornery at the end of the break!

Of course, that's my problem as a group break host.  You are here to see more new cards - so let's get to it!

1998 Pacific Paramount:
Pack 21:
11.  Brady Anderson - Orioles
244.  Shawn Estes - Giants
201.  Carlos Baerga - Mets
168.  Derek Bell - Astros
Copper:  67.  Todd Walker - Twins
Die-Cut Team Checklist:  10.  Ben Grieve - Oakland

Ooh, those team checklist cards are kind of cool, aren't they?  They are seeded 2:37 packs so we ought to find one more.  Selfishly, I'm definitely hoping that our second checklist (assuming we hit another one) is the Barry Larkin that I need for my own collection!

Pack 22:
216.  Scott Rolen - Phillies
195.  Vladimir Guerrero - Expos

250.  J.T. Snow - Giants
191.  Fernando Vina - Brewers
35.  Geronimo Berroa - Indians
Copper:  135.  John Smoltz - Braves

Pack 23:
142.  Sammy Sosa - Cubs
1.  Garret Anderson - Angels

230.  Brian Jordan - Cardinals
174.  Wilton Guerrero - Dodgers
101.  Kevin Stocker - Rays
Copper:  206.  Bobby Jones - Mets

Two packs in a row with really nice horizontal shots (those seem to be fairly rare in the set overall).

Pack 24:
25.  Mo Vaughn - Red Sox
8.  Shigetoshi Hasegawa - Angels
78.  Jason Giambi - Athletics
212.  Doug Glanville - Phillies

93.  Wilson Alvarez - Rays
Copper:  197.  J. P. Santangelo - Expos

Pack 25:
84.  Jay Buhner - Mariners
48.  Brian Hunter - Tigers
214.  Mike Lieberthal - Phillies
172.  Chris Holt - Astros

124.  Devon White - Diamondbacks
Copper:  102.  John Burkett - Rangers

Pack 26:
169.  Craig Biggio - Astros
13.  Eric Davis - Orioles
228.   Gary Gaetti - Cardinals
190.  Jose Valentin - Brewers
82.  Aaron Small - Athletics
Copper:  152.  Ellis Burks - Rockies

I like when the Copper parallels go to claimed teams - I assume most of us don't have many of the copper parallels for the team(s) we actually collect.  In fact, I'm pretty sure I didn't own a single Reds copper parallel prior to the opening of this box.

That does it for today's post.  Only ten packs remain in the box and then we will move on to the next box - 1995 Score Summit.

  1. I haven't been keeping up with these. Awesome to have a colored parallel in this box! Although I'm sure it will be slightly weird to see copper on a non-UD card.

  2. Wow yes those die-cut team checklist cards are cool. This coming from someone who got sick of die-cut cards back in the early 1990s. I think I'm starting to appreciate them again now. Just as I have lost most of my anti-relic hate that I had when I first discovered them back when "jersey" cards had only been around for about 5-10 years.
