30 Teams in 30 Posts: #23

I'm ranking all 30 of the MLB teams in order of how much I like them at this moment in time.  As with most countdowns, I'm starting with the worst (Cardinals) and I'll eventually end up with the best (Reds).  The real question now is, where will the other MLB teams land in my countdown?

We've made it #23 on my list of the worst MLB teams and I have to be honest, this particular team caused me a lot of headache in terms of where to place it on the list.  In the end, I ended up slotting the Los Angeles Dodgers in spot #23.

The Dodgers of the modern era really aren't that bad.  I've always liked Kershaw, Puig entertained me (which is good since he's now a Red), and even players like Seager and Joc Pederson have had their moments of interest for me.

No, the current Dodgers aren't the problem.

My disdain for LA goes back to the old NL West days.

Back when the Reds and Dodgers were in the same division and, for whatever reason, it always felt like the Reds would lose to the Dodgers.  In fact, it still feels that most years whenever the Reds travel out west - and I guess since the Dodgers are typically the best of the west teams, it makes sense that they end up as the second lowest current NL West team in my team rankings (my hatred of the Giants is much, much more personal and recent so the Giants are ranked much lower than even LA).

Although the Dodgers have now been ranked, I can report that it'll be a few more posts before we get to see where the remaining NL West team lands on my list.  That said, for the next couple of posts at least we will stick with the National League, just not the NL West.  Who comes next?  Any guesses?

My list of favorite MLB teams (from worst to first):

to be continued...

  2. Mets for sure... Ugh, for the NY media factor alone.
