The 2001 Topps Gold Label set is a beautiful set with way too many parallels to keep track of! The Class 1 cards are the "basic" cards, by far the most common version for each player. However, in addition to the Class 2 and Class 3 cards (each in increased difficulty of pull), there are Gold versions of each class (even tougher finds). Finally, there are some one-of-one parallels that also exist though I have no plans to ever track those down.
As it is, I would like to eventually acquire the Class 2 and Class 3 cards of this particular Larkin card - but for now I'll simply enjoy the Class 1 version as it is gorgeous. The front has a lovely shine to it while the back is simple yet elegant. Most years of Topps Gold Label are quite nice and I'd put this one up there near the top in terms of "classy" Gold Label designs. All told, this is a sharp looking card from 2001!
