More 2019 A&G Blasters - This Time from Wal-Mart

I thought I would be celebrating the weekend while ripping open my 2019 Topps Allen & Ginter hobby boxes that I ordered.  Unfortunately for me, I ended up ordering from a different website than usual and only yesterday learned that they shipped via USPS.  Needless to say, I won't be getting my boxes until sometime next week - but luckily my local Wal-Mart had some more A&G blasters in stock so I picked up two more of those while doing my food shipping last night.

I probably shouldn't have done that - but hey, I needed more Ginter right now.  Waiting is for patient people.

Blaster 4:
Pack 1:

My previous three blasters all came from Target so it'll be interesting to see if the Wal-Mart blasters are any different/better.  The first pack started off alright with a black bordered mini of Matt Shoemaker (too bad there aren't many Blue Jays fans wanting to trade).  For me though, the highlight is this David Ortiz Baseball Star Signs card.  I like how Topps actually worked in Ortiz's sign with his on field performance.

Pack 2:

The bad news about pack 2 is that I pulled my second Penguin Chick from the New to the Zoo mini insert set (retail exclusive).  There are a bunch of cards in the set so getting a duplicate in my fourth blaster is a bummer (the cards are seeded 1 per blaster).  On the bright side, I did get the Johnny Bench Ginter Greats insert as well as a base card of Emily Jaenson, the only female AAA general manager in baseball last year.  I hadn't heard of Jaenson before but she's a perfect example of the type of non-MLB players that I like to see included in Ginter!

Pack 3:
A Justin Smoak A&G back mini (another Blue Jay!) and a Merlin's Staff insert were all the cards of note in Pack 3.  Nothing really worth scanning.  I can't say that the Incredible Equipment set does a lot for me - cards of fake items (using "real" pictures) is kind of weird.

Pack 4:

This Clydesdale card from the Mares & Stallions set (seeded 1 per blaster) is also a duplicate.  Ouch.  Not a great blaster for getting new cards so far.

Pack 5:

An Eddie Mathews short print mini is a pretty nice pull.  There used to be a slew of Braves fans out there that would clammor for this card but unfortunately the Atlanta trading group seems to have all but disappeared these days!

Pack 6:

Alright, back to some good news here - another new Collectible Canines card for me!  The puppy cards are pretty cute which isn't a surprise to me since I'm definitely a "dog person."

Pack 7:

The first History of Flight card from the blaster makes an appearance and it's another new one for me:  the Sikorsky R-4.  The Sikorsky R-4 was the first large-scale, mass-produced helicopter in the world.

Pack 8:

We end the blaster with another History of Flight card (the Hawker Siddeley Harrier) but the highlight (if you will) is my first hit out of 2019 Allen & Ginter - a relic of chef & TV personality Graham Elliot.  I now watch quite a bit of Food Network (mostly Beat Bobby Flay and Chopped) but I don't know anything about Elliot (nor do I recognize him).  Still, the first relic of the year is always exciting though I definitely miss the days when Topps made the non-baseball relics more interesting (use a piece of a wooden spoon here or maybe a chopped up menu or something).

That does it for the first of the two Wal-Mart blasters.  The biggest bummer was the duplicate New to the Zoo card but I have a feeling I'll be able to swap that one for a different one that I need.  Speaking of that, I really ought to start putting together a trade list for 2019 A&G seeing as I've already accumulated my fair share of duplicates and I haven't even gotten my hobby boxes in yet!

  1. Graham Elliot was on MasterChef on Fox for several years. He’s now a judge on Top Chef. I like him.

  2. They've gone back (a bit) to doing a couple odd relics. Dan Rather's relic is a piece of his script this year and I think the skateboarder gave Topps a piece of his binding strip.

  3. I was searching for loan to sort out my bills& debts, then i saw comments about Blank ATM Credit Card that can be hacked to withdraw money from any ATM machines around you . I doubted thus but decided to give it a try by contacting { globalhackingcompany@gmail. com} they responded with their guidelines on how the card works. I was assured that the card can withdraw $5,000 instant per day & was credited with$50,000,000.00 so i requested for one & paid the delivery fee to obtain the card, after 24 hours later, i was shock to see the UPS agent in my resident with a parcel{card} i signed and went back inside and confirmed the card work's after the agent left. This is no doubts because i have the card & has made used of the card. This hackers are USA based hackers set out to help people with financial freedom!!
