With college back in full session, I've fallen behind on showing off (and organizing) several incoming packages - both of the baseball card type and the board game type. In an effort to force myself to start getting caught back up, I present a recent trade that I made over on BoardGameGeek.
Outgoing:
Lost Ruins of Arnak box Folded Space organizer with original box.
Incoming:
Lost Ruins of Arnak promo card: Rat
This was a strange trade in that both parties sent off elements that were from the same game! I was able to part with my Lost Ruins of Arnak box and organizer because I recently upgraded my game to the big box "Adventure Chest" version. In return, I was happy to add one of the three promos that I am aware of for the game. The Rat was handed out at CGE booth during Spiel '24. I'll probably never make it overseas for a board game convention, so promos like this are always going to be tricky for me to track down!
For the record, the other three promo cards that I'm still missing are: Saxophone, Alicorn, and Soothsayer's Runes.
Valley of the Kings: Necropolis Expansion
In addition to the lone Arnak card, I was also able to nab a small expansion for the excellent Valley of the Kings game. This expansion adds a new set of Grave Goods for more variety in the base game, as well as new Pharaoh cards.
This particular trade was a win-win for both of us. I was able to clear out a big box and an organizer that I no longer had a use for, and in return, I got a few cards that will slot directly into game boxes that are already on my shelf (so a net gain of some storage space for me)! My trade partner was able to get rid of just a few cards for a fully assembled organizer, plus the game box. If only all board game trades could be this easy!
