2009 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Tin (Target Retail)

These $29.99 tins have been staring at me from the bottom of the Target card aisle shelf for quite some time now. I probably should have continued to let them stare at me...

22. Cliff Lee
31. Felix Hernandez
38. Hideki Okajima
71. Manny Ramirez
87. Roy Oswalt
94. Tim Lincecum

Stupid Retrospective #1591. Joe "some hockey guy" Sakic
Sweet Swatch Memorabilia: SS-AJ: Adam Jones

This is the second retail tin of Sweet Spot that I've ever purchased (the other was a 2008 tin). In each case, my "hit" was less than inspiring...and it made me mad that I wasted 30 bucks. Fool me once Upper Deck, shame on you. Fool me twice and you'll never do it again - no more retail Sweet Spot for me, ever.

Note: This same entry is being posted over at A Pack to Be Named Later as well.

  2. I keep almost buying this at Target as well. I think you may be the entry who finally convinced me not to, after lots of entries. Sorry for your lack of value dude.

Wow, I think I would have felt abused by Upper Deck even if that had been a $9.99 product.

  4. Ooops! Justifies my NOT buying any of these whenever I'm at Target. But ya know, it's kinda of like the "regular" packs - no single relic card will be worth the $20, but its fun when pulling the "big" sweet spot auto.

Packs are like lottery tickets, except with OK odds of getting something decent. No, it's not the most economical way to collect, but it sure is fun!! I'm much more entertained by ripping a cheaper box and/or packs than shopping for singles. To each their own!

  5. I feel your pain... I've those tins up a few times while shopping, but I've never actually bought one... Not any worse than spending 20 on a blaster and getting nothing... I'd trade for the Jones...

Oh Boy, $5 dollars worth of cards for $30. No wonder Upper Deck is still in Business.
