Back in the early fall, I purchased a bunch of original Allen & Ginter cards off of eBay. Over the next week, as part of my Original Allen & Ginter Theme Week, you'll get to see the various cards (plus some other cards that I already owned).
Today, we begin with a set that I now own exactly one card (out of 50): General Government and State Capitol Buildings of the United States. This particular set was issued in 1887!
I thought it would be fun to acquire at least one representative from each set that I see online (which is how I ended up with the capitol building of New Hampshire (located in Concord). I found a modern image of New Hampshire's capitol building - and what do you know? It's still the same exact building!
I hope you enjoyed the first original Allen & Ginter card of the week - this is the only card featuring an inanimate object.
