A Tour of My Blog!

You may recall from awhile back that I did a rather extensive overhaul of my blog.  For the most part, I've been quite happy with how it turned out.  However, I have heard from a few people that they couldn't find something on the new layout that they could find on the old layout.  As such, I thought it might be a good idea to give you all a "virtual tour" of my blog.  Along the way, I'd love it if you chimed in on things you like (or don't like) - I'm always tinkering and trying to make things better.

We begin with what you'll most likely see when you navigate to the main page of my blog.

The big "Barry Larkin Experiment" graphic is actually a rotating image that highlight several different articles or themes on my blog.  I try to keep it updated but I'm not always successful at it!  However, I kind of like the various images (if only I had Photoshop - and Photoshop skills)!

At the very top left side of the blog, you'll find three links.

The first brings you back to the home page of the blog, the second goes to my want list (a page that I have plenty of links to!), and the third brings you to one of my pages (my Complete Set Chronicles where I'm slowly highlighting all the sets that I've completed over the years).

On the right hand side, you can find a link to my blog on Facebook and a link to my personal Twitter account.

I'm not a huge Twitter user yet, but it's slowly growing on me.  I often use it to announce my upcoming group breaks and/or other blog entries of note.  I've been tempted to run a contest via my Twitter account but I haven't done so yet.

Underneath the Nachos Grande blog title, you can find a series of links.

If you hover your mouse over each word, you should see a drop down menu appear with even more choices.

For example, if you hover your mouse on the For Trade link, you should a menu listing a variety of years.  Choose one of the years (such as 2011) and you'll see a second menu with sets from that year that I have for trade.  Each link leads you directly to the blog post where I have listed the cards from the particular set/year.

Moving over to the right side of the blog, you'll find a sequence of icons that all lead to various places.  I hope that the labels are clear enough (and easy enough to read on whatever device it is that you use to view my blog).

The big nacho chip with sauce leads you to my want list while the icon with Larkin's rookie card leads you to my page containing links to all the cards that I've featured in my Barry Larkin Collection.

The newest icon is the Elusive 8 icon which leads you directly to a page showing images of cards that I'd love to acquire ASAP.  I have a couple of blank icons which will eventually be filled (either by more pages that I add to the blog or by advertising).

Below the Elusive 8 icon is a link to Box and Case review page.  I started this up a few months ago and hopefully I'll continue to be able to add to it and turn it into a nice little reference page.  The Slocon link will lead you to my fantasy baseball league (it was a weird trade that I completed with someone that led to me adding that icon)!

Finally, there's an advertising panel for BuildaSign (the people who supplied me with the blog stickers that many of you like so much)!

Of course, the main part of the blog is the daily entry, but there are a few other bits that some people have overlooked.  If you scroll down a bit, you'll find my trading statistics and then a bit farther down the page you'll find my followers (161 as of the time I wrote this post).

At the bottom of the blog, you'll find a couple of Google AdSense panels (don't expect to get rich from AdSense, three years later and I'm now at $60 dollars or so).  I also have a link to my site counter and a place where you can subscribe via email if you'd like.

I hope that my brief tour helped you find things that you used to know where they were.  I'm actually quite interested in hearing any compliments or complaints you have about the blog and/or its layout.  Feel free to respond via the comments below, or if you'd prefer, via email (which you can find in my profile - go to the Personal tab at the top of the blog!).
