I'm pleased to close out the first week of 2022 with a white whale harpooned!
Yeah, that one is probably going to be nearly impossible to find....especially at a price I can afford. That being said, I didn't think I'd be this close to completing the set at this point in time anyhow so who knows what might happen!?
As my loyal blog readers know, I'm a set collector first and foremost. I happen to collect a wide variety of sets, including some sets that I really have no right (or reason) to collect. One such set is the 2020 Topps Allen & Ginter framed relic set.
This set is 70 cards deep and includes a great checklist of retired Hall of Famers, current stars, and promising rookies. By the end of 2020, I was down to needing only two more relics for my set. Unfortunately, both were super short prints...but now thanks to a recent eBay find, I'm one super short print closer to set completion!
That's a gorgeous Ted Williams relic card - my first relic of his in fact! With the Williams card now in hand, I'm down to needing only one more card for my relic set:
MFR-HA Hank Aaron - Milwaukee Braves
