Mondays are for TCDB!

This semester is a hectic one for me mostly because I have a new prep (history of mathematics).  As such, much of my free time is being sucked up by lesson planning, homework writing, grading, etc. and thus I haven't had the time (or energy) to focus much on my baseball cards.  One of the first things to suffer is trading as that is a time consuming process!  Happily though, for at least this week, I do have some TCDB returns to show off.

We'll start with this 2023 Topps All Aces card from user coachspike:

I'm curious as to what team each of you associate Nolan Ryan with the most.  For me, it's the Astros but I think that's because the special Nolan Ryan cards from 1990 Topps are more or less embedded in my mind.  As for the card itself, I love the All Aces cards and I'm happy to report that I'm down to only needing two more to finish off my set (from Series 1 & 2, I'm ignoring Update).

2023 Topps Wants:
Inserts:
All Aces:  39, 48

My other trade from the past week comes courtesy of TCDB user Neilscards:

That's a 2023 Donruss parallel, more specifically, a Dominators Red card serially numbered out of 149.  The card is a beautifully shiny card, I admit that I love it in all of its sparkly excess!

That does it for the past week.  I'm not sure when the next TCDB trade recap post will be...I've got one offer out there and one other that I'm trying to work on so there's hope for next week yet!  Until then, have a great Monday - the final Monday of January, believe it or not!  I'm off to go write up some more lessons about Babylonian mathematics.

  1. For Ryan, Astros first, followed by Angels.

I don't know what "Babylonian mathematics" is but you just erased my periodic wish that I was in college again.

  2. I've always been pretty decent in math, going as far as calculus in college. But I've never heard of a "HIstory of Mathematics" class or even Babylonian mathematics--both sound intriguing. btw, love those All Aces cards. I'm going for those in S1, S2 and Update.

  3. I associate Nolan Ryan with the Rangers, than Astros.
