It's Finals Monday (and also TCDB time)!

Today marks the first day of final exam week where I teach.  I have a calculus I final to give today...which means I have a calculus I final to grade later today!  No need to worry about that for now though, instead, let's focus on something much more palatable to everyone in the audience:  baseball cards.  More specifically, baseball cards that I've acquired in the past week from trades over on TCDB.

We begin with a 2023 Allen & Ginter card from user CoachBarry:

That's a Foil Filigree parallel from last year's Ginter set.  Despite the fact that I busted a case worth of boxes of 2023 Ginter, I never pulled the Larkin Foil Filigree!  Happily, thanks to this trade I now own yet another Barry Larkin card for my collection.

From that single card trade above to the next trade which consisted of ten cards!  This one is courtesy of user JustinBobo77 and it's a great help toward my set collection of the 2024 Topps Silver Pack 1989 Topps Chrome set (that's a mouth full, isn't it?!).

Always nice to get a big batch of cards in a single trade.  With my want list being (sort of) small these days, it's rather rare to get 10+ cards I need from a single user.  Actually, truth be told there's only nine cards in the above scan because the tenth card was a 2024 Topps base card that I ended up getting in a different trade last week.  Even still, I'll take 9 new cards for the collection in one swoop!

Next up, from RParsons17 comes another new-to-me Barry Larkin card, this time from 2001!

That's a Homefield Advantage parallel of Barry's 2001 Topps base card.

Finally, from user Donnie Sawyer comes another nice batch of 2024 Topps Chrome 1989 cards.

Definitely happy to have made such solid progress on the Chrome set.  That being said, I'm still not quite yet finished with the set - so if you have any available for trade let me know. Here's what I'm still searching for:

2024 Topps Wants:
1989 Topps Baseball 35th Anniversary Chrome:
T89C- 3, 8, 21, 30, 33, 34, 36, 38, 39, 43, 48, 51, 66, 70, 72, 76, 78, 83, 91

Happy Monday, everyone!  May your day go well (and final exams as well should you be in the same situation as my students).

  1. Hope your students do well on their final. Does this mean you summer break starts soon?

  2. Down to 19 cards? That's awesome. You did it a lot quicker than I thought you could. Impressive.
