TCDB Monday: All These Trade Envelopes Won't Scan Themselves

Happy Monday, everyone.  I'm back with more TCDB trading action.  That's right, last week I started to whittle down the huge pile of envelopes on my desk, and now I'm going to continue that task today.  Will I get everything scanned?  Probably not, but let's see what I'm able to do in the limited time that I have for baseball cards right now (after all, I've got a ton of snow to get shoveled off my driveway today, luckily, I was able to take the day off of work)!

We'll jump right in with a trade with TCDB user cchstove:

This swap netted me a bunch of needed mini inserts from the 2025 Allen & Ginter set.  The more of the Light the Night lighthouse cards that I get, the more I like that particular set!  The Portland Head Lighthouse card, in particular, has beautiful colors with an almost sunset effect going on.

Next, a single card (for me), but a good one from user elcid_91:

That's the regular back mini of Barry's card in the 2025 Ginter set.  I like having Barry included in modern sets, but the downside is that most modern sets have a ton of parallels (and Ginter is certainly no exception to that rule)!

Up next is a larger envelope courtesy of user Rooty10:

I swung a deal for several needed 2025 Topps Holiday base cards, plus one more Light the Night mini!  At this point, I think I've worked out a trade for all of the remaining cards that I need for my 2025 Holiday base set.  It's simply a waiting game for all of the cards to arrive (and, I suppose, I'll have to hope that my bookkeeping is correct in terms of what I think I need versus what I actually end up needing)!

I'm still not done with the mail packages!  Up next, from user cardboardgater comes some needed 2025 Topps Silver Pack Chrome cards (plus another Ginter mini):

The Silver Pack Chrome cards are the highlights of this trade - a current Red and a retired Red!  I love the look of the 1990 set with the Chrome Mojo treatment - and I also love that I'm nearing the end of collecting the cards from last year's Topps set!

I've been busy making trades of all different sizes, and I'm certainly not averse to doing a single card swap when necessary.  Case in point, this trade with user Abebauman:

I sent off several cards, but only received one needed A&G mini in return.  That's quite all right, though, because I'm still killing two birds with one stone:  I'm getting a card I actually want, and I'm reducing my trade bait pile (which is, by definition, cards I no longer want)!  Also, I shouldn't be using phrases like "killing two birds with one stone" when talking about acquiring a bird card!

Next, from Sharpie0226 comes another one-for-me, many-for-them trade:

That's yet another 2025 A&G mini, this time it's the Cabo San Lucas beach in Baja California, Mexico.  Based on the image on the card, I'd say that the beach is more like a collection of rocky islands!

And finally, to close out today's post, I have a nice smattering of mini inserts from user cddias68:

As I get closer to completing the various mini sets, it's getting harder and harder to find a single person to trade with who has multiple cards I need!  Thus, this was a nice trade in that I was able to acquire several needed minis for the cost of a single stamp (plus the cards I traded away, of course)!

That does it for this past week.  I still have a few more envelopes sitting on my desk, but those will have to wait until next week.  For now, it's time for me to go outside and shovel out the driveway!

  1. Nice cards! I'm working on multiple things that frigid temps cause. Stay warm, safe and enjoy the time all!
