A Spine-Stealing Curve Ball?!

The final week of the regular semester is now half-over (ok, technically it'll be half over in a few hours).  What better way to celebrate the pending completion of another semester of work than with a pack of cards?

Pack 20:
19.  Brady Anderson
47.  Cal Ripken Jr.

56.  Omar Vizquel
69.  Alex Fernandez
115.  Bartolo Colon
129.  Chan Ho Park
144.  Matt Lawton
196.  Paul O'Neil
241.  Prospect:  Eric Gagne

2 of 15 TS.  Talent Show:  Matt Riley

So far, the Talent Show insert set hasn't been overly impressive in terms of the featured players.  Looking over the checklist, only Rick Ankiel, Alfonso Soriano, Vernon Wells, Pat Burrell, Ben Davis, and A.J. Burnett really made much of a name for themselves (at least those are the ones that stuck out to me).  Mr Riley was a "southpaw smoke thrower with a spine-stealing overhand curve" according to the back of his baseball card.  Maybe he should have worked on throwing a baseball more rather than throwing smoke?

One more thing:  For those of you who are keeping track, this pack had exactly 0 duplicates in it.  That's excellent considering we are up to pack 20 (out of 28).

  1. Yeah 2000 was a weak rookie year, but MLB made up for in 2001 with Ichiro and Pujols.
