Group Break: Who Wants a Relic?!

The 2004 Upper Deck Play Ball box promises two relics per box.  By the end of this post, you'll know one of them.

Pack 5:
37.  Jim Thome - Phillies
54.  Magglio Ordonez - White Sox

85.  Chipper Jones - Braves

102.  Andy Pettitte - Astros
124.  Javier Vazquez - Yankees

The Ordonez card might be one of the ugliest cards I've ever seen.  There's something really creepy about it (and the hulking mass of "artistic" metal light banks behind Magglio doesn't help any).  The Chipper card is a bit better - certainly good enough to give the Braves the pack win.

Pack 6:
22.  Mark Teixeira - Rangers
90.  Aaron Boone - Yankees
96.  Edgar Martinez - Mariners
104.  Rondell White - Tigers
129.  Trot Nixon - Red Sox
AC-RP.  Apparel Collection:  Rafael Palmeiro - Orioles

Although you get two relics per box on average, we should only get one Apparel Collection card since they are seeded 1:24 packs.  This is our second relic with the photo of the team being different from the team of the card - in this case Palmeiro is shown as a Ranger but the card is clearly marked "Orioles."  Pack win for the O's I guess!
