It's finally here - the end of the cleverly named "Pack Wars II" (you know, because I did this once before). It is finally time to open the 20th (and final) pack of the repack box. As a whole, the repack box was a lot of fun to bust even if I didn't get anything great. I did get a few new cards for my Reds collection - and plenty of trade bait which is nice too I suppose. Without further ado, here's the finale.
Pack Wars II - Pack 20:
2009 O-Pee-Chee (6 cards):
The final pack only has six cards - it'll have to average over three points per card if O-Pee-Chee is going to pull off the upset victory.
404. Ryan Sweeney - Athletics
It's not often you see a baseball to the nuts on a trading card. Ouch. +3 for the pain.
92. Brandon Inge - Tigers
I'd love to give O-Pee-Chee a fighting chance by awarding three more points to Inge but I cannot...this is a boring card. +0.
339. Garret Anderson - Braves (Black Border)
I'm guessing the black borders are a one-per-pack parallel. That's inexcusable when you only get six cards per pack. Booooo. -2
506. Blue Jays Team Checklist
I kind of like team checklists - and I like stadium shots. This card is ok by me. +2
442. Shaun Marcum - Blue Jays
Whoopie, another Blue Jay. +0
243. Javier Vaquez - Braves
I like the fact that the set is printed on old timey feeling cardboard rather than the glossy stuff that most modern sets use. I like the design of the cards as well - even if they are a bit dull. What I don't like is only 6 cards per pack (and really only 5 of which can be used for your set if you are trying to complete such a thing). +1 I guess for the more postives than negatives.
Pack total: 4 points
Yep, 4 points. And here you thought the Pack Wars would end with a huge finale. More like a dud. Oh well - it was still a good time!

On the flip side, both 2011 Topps Series 1 and 2 were represented by the only two packs that ended up with negative points.
