Welcome back to the next countdown post! At the conclusion of this post, we will have seen the bottom third of the 2005 Upper Deck Past Time Pennants set. That's hard to believe considering how many nice cards we've already seen show up in the countdown. Who are the final three cards to not make it to the top two-thirds of the set? Let's find out!
#63: Sparky Lyle
Lyle was the first reliever to win the Cy Young award back in 1977. As for the photo, it sure looks older than something taken in the 70s. I guess it's the black-and-white (and blur) that makes it appear older than it really is.
#62: Jim Bunning
There are quite a few shots like Bunning's in the Past Time set. Some of them are better than others though, mostly dependent on what's happening in the background of the photo. As for Bunning's card, I like the old and clearly well-used glove. I also like the bright blue sky and the green grass. Unfortunately for Bunning, that was enough to get him to the top of the bottom third, but that's it.
#61: Eddie Mathews
An obviously posed image, but nonetheless pretty cool. Mathews looks both determined and annoyed - not the easiest pair of feelings to convey in a single photograph!
