Barry Larkin Collection 223: 1990 Topps Stickers - #11 - Variation 3

Barry Larkin
Year:  1990
Brand:  Topps Stickers
Card number:  11
Variation:  3

Topps followed up its 1989 Topps Stickers set with another similar set in 1990.  Once again, the set features two small stickers on the front (each of a different player) with a large "sticker back card" on the reverse.  The two small stickers on the front are ugly - and with no team or player names, boring too!  The back, however, is decent (certainly better than the previous year's effort).  It is probably safe to assume that Topps geared this set toward's the kid market but I doubt they were terribly successful.  Kids, like adults, like to see team logos (of which there are none on the front or back).  Furthermore, kids like to know what team (and what player) they have in their hand (again, the stickers fail on both count).  The only saving grace is the back of the card which does feature a clear player name and position (but again, no mention of team).
