A 1:90 Pack Insert Plus Double the Packs per Post!

Before we get to the next couple of group break packs, let's take stock of where we are in the break.  At the moment, according to my records that Yankees lead all teams in total number of base cards (10) though both the Marlins (!) and Giants are close (8 each) and the Cardinals are also within striking range (7).  We've found 10 inserts which have been spread across 10 different teams.  We also have three serially numbered cards (which have all gone to Tony Lehman's slot - 2 to the Blue Jays, 1 to the Twins).

On the other side of the coin, the Brewers, Rangers, and Nationals currently bring up the rear with one card each.  The Orioles, Reds, and Blue Jays also are low with two base cards each (though the Red and Blue Jays both have inserts and/or serially numbered cards so that number isn't the be-all and end-all for them).

All that said, the break is still super early - so let's keep rippin' into the Stadium Club Chrome box and add to some of the team totals!

Pack 13:
1.  Nomar Garciaparra - Red Sox
34.  Brian Giles - Pirates

Great looking card!
89.  Jermaine Dye - Royals
248.  Ben Christensen - Cubs
V14.  Visionaries Refractor:  Dee Brown - Royals

The Visionaries Refractor parallels are seeded 1:90 packs!!  What a great pull for the Royals (even if it is Dee Brown).  Unfortunately, no one claimed Kansas City so this card will end up in my stack when all is said and done...next claim those Royals - you never know!!

Pack 14:
87.  Mariano Rivera - Yankees

There's probably some rule that you have to scan every Rivera card you come across for the next twenty years (and Jeter will probably fall in that category next year).  I doubt I'll actually do that (too much Yankee-stink on my blog) but even I can recognize that this is a nice looking Rivera card!
104.  John Jaha - Athletics
113.  Scott Williamson - Reds
126.  Jose Lima - Astros
239.  Ryan Christianson - Mariners

Well, we didn't get much in the way of help for the lowest teams did we?  Maybe we ought to open a couple more...you don't mind do you?

Pack 15:
71.  Rickey Henderson - Mets
77.  Ron Belliard - Brewers

85.  Rafael Palmeiro - Rangers
124.  David Bell - Mariners
127.  Carl Everett - Red Sox

That's better - the Brewers and Rangers got their second base card.  Moving on up!

Pack 16:
63.  Chris Widger - Expos

Yay!
66.  Tim Salmon - Angels
79.  Mike Hampton - Mets
114.  Deivi Cruz - Tigers
122.  Dave Martinez - Rays

With that Widger card, every single team now has at least two cards.  I hope that's a sign that the group break will treat every team well...I'd say we are on our way to a highly successful break - let's hope it works out that way!
