The 1996 Select Certified set is a Jekyll and Hyde set if you ask me. The front of the card is pretty much hideous, boring, and all-around lousy (especially with the vertical font). The back of the card, however, is interesting, different, and quite attractive. I particularly like the Reds' logos in the background plus the unique statistical breakdown of Larkin's stats against all the other National League Teams.
I can't help but wonder if Pinnacle had two design teams working on this set - one for the front of the card and one for the back of the card (and I can only presume that those two design teams never bothered to talk to each other)!
