The UD Plus insert set was a 100 card insert set that was seeded in Series 2 packs back in 2002. In hobby boxes, the UD Plus cards were distributed as two-card pack box toppers. The hobby UD Plus cards have white borders. In retail, the UD Plus cards were seeded like any other insert set might be but retail cards have gold borders.
As you can see, the hobby cards are numbered out of 1125 copies (and from what I could tell, the retail cards are also numbered out of 1125). If nothing else, it's clear to me that Upper Deck definitely over-produced the 2002 Upper Deck base set!!
I have to admit, other than the serial numbering, this card could have simply been a regular base card. Nothing about it screams "insert" or even "special" but it's a nice enough design on its own. I do like the team colors in the stripes along the side of the card, that's a nice touch.
