Free Cards from Padrographs!

Back near the end of June, Rod (from Padrographs) held a Free Card Friday.  The Free Card Friday concept has definitely been one of the few highlights of the whole covid-19 crisis...it seems like plenty of bloggers have organized different sorts of giveaways and every now and then someone has a card (or more) that I decide I'd like for my personal collection.

It's no surprise then that it would be one of Rod's giveaways that piqued my interest.  Rod seems to have a never ending supply of cards including a bunch of nifty vintage cards.  In fact, it was a vintage car card that caught my eye first on the giveaway and I knew I had to claim it.

Now, I'm not even a car guy but I'm a sucker for vintage stuff like this.  The only bad thing (from my perspective) about the card is that it isn't actually standard size.  I love oddball cards but I don't love oddball cards that won't fit in my binder pages nicely.

In addition to the car card, I also claimed two other cards from Rod that were definitely of the more modern type:

The Hunter Green is some sort of Bowman card...maybe a parallel I'm not really sure.  I can't keep up with Bowman and I don't even try.  The Altuve is from the 2020 Panini Diamond Kings set - a set that I just so happen to be working on filling up a group break for (go here for details)!

Many thanks for the free cards, Rod!  As for anyone else, if you'd like to trade be sure to check out my want list and make an offer!

  1. The 1961 Topps Sports Cars set is gorgeous. I claimed a pair of Ferraris from Rod and they're currently displayed on my desk, because I love looking at them.

  2. Rod's given out some nice cards. I've missed most of the Friday giveaways. Apparently, that's the one day of the week I'm busy. LOL.
