The 2004 Donruss Throwback Threads set is definitely a set that you don't buy for the base cards.  The design isn't exactly bad or anything but rather this is a set that revolves around the hits (and parallels of both hits and base cards).  For example, Barry Larkin has the above base card plus an additional 16 other cards in the set...most of which are parallels (see the full list below).  You'll note that I only own one card from the set, the base card shown here.

Truthfully, I'm not overly excited to try and track down the plethora of remaining Larkins from this set.  Maybe someday I'll try to acquire at least one of the relics but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen if I were you!
