Delivery Time! Some Late Summer Cards from Cards on Cards

 Now that the craziness of Allen & Ginter is past me, I'm getting back to posting about other cards plus showing off some of my recent* mail days.

*as long as you define "recent" as within the last few months

Today's mail day is a nice little surprise PWE from Kerry over at Cards on Cards.  

Kerry is definitely one of my most prolific trade partners which proves that Reds fans and Cardinals fans can actually get along!  Heck, I think it works out well for both of us since we always have someone to dump off our "bad red colored team" cards on.

Kerry's PWE to me had a "the future is bright" kind of theme to it which I appreciate even more now that the Reds flamed out spectacularly in the playoffs this year.  Besides the Hunter Greene shown above (a future pitching phenom, perhaps), Kerry also included this sweet Optical Mythical card of future Reds' basher Aristides Aquino.

I'm not actually convinced that Aquino is anything more than another Wily Mo Pena clone, but I do hope that he ends up amounting to a good major leaguer.  One guy that I feel a bit more comfortable saying he'll be good is Nick Lodolo.  

There was talk that the Reds might have Lodolo pitch with the big league club this year, that's how good this young man is supposed to be.  I'm guessing we'll see him pitch in MLB in 2021.

And last but not least, the final "future is bright" card from Kerry - a literally bright orange parallel of Sonny Gray. 

Sonny is poised to lead the Reds' staff once again in 2021, especially if Bauer departs for richer pockets.  Personally, I love Sonny's fire and drive and I credit him as being a big part of the Reds' turnaround in 2020...after all, at the beginning of September the Reds looked pretty much dead in the water but Gray (among others) wasn't having any of that!

Finally, what makes a good trade envelope even better?  How about including a Barry Larkin card for me?  

Yeah, Kerry knows exactly what I like!
