This is another Donruss variation from the late 80s, early 90s. I only recently became aware of these (thanks to TCDB) and as luck would have it I had most of the variations sitting in my duplicate Larkin box!
This particular card is the variation of Barry's regular Donruss base card - you can tell by the copyright line on the back of the card. This particular version reads "1990 Leaf, Inc" (without a period). The regular version of Barry's card has the same copyright line except it includes a period at the end.
If that weren't enough, there's also a factory set version to track down (with different "paint splats" on the front of the card) and an Aqueous test parallel card. I don't own either of those yet...but give me some time, maybe someday you'll see a third (and even a fourth) version of this 1990 Donruss card on my blog!
It's hard keeping up with all of the different variations Donruss had in the late 80's and early 90's... but I guess it gives us player collectors something to track down for our collections.
ReplyDeleteIt does feel rather silly to have two cards side-by-side in the binder where the only difference is that one card has a period where the other one doesn't... Such is the life of a player collector!
