This is the third (out of nine) cards of Barry Larkin in the 1990 Star Gold set (here's a link to the previous Larkin card in the set).  For the current card, we get to celebrate Larkin's 1989 Silver Slugger Award.  Interestingly enough, the Reds had two Silver Slugger winners in 1989 - Larkin and teammate Eric Davis.  Looking at the list on the back of the card, I have to admit that I didn't know that pitchers also earned Silver Slugger awards!  Congrats to San Francisco pitcher Don Robinson - he was one of three Giants to win Silver Sluggers in 1989 (Will Clark and Kevin Mitchell were the others).

I'm a big fan of the Star Gold set - the design is definitely "MS Paint-esque" but the cards have good information and the photography is decent enough to keep me interested.  That's a good thing too since there are still six more Barry Larkin cards from this exact set to show off!
