Delivery Time! An Old Fashioned Blog Trade via Too Many Verlanders

The vast majority of my trading these days uses TCDB as a catalyst but that isn't to say that blog trading is completely dead.  As it turns out, I recently did do a blog trade with Dennis over at Too Many Verlanders.  Dennis sent me a smattering of Reds cards (and in return I sent him a bunch of Barry Larkin cards that he needed for his collection of the greatest shortstop of all-time).

I won't show off every card that Dennis sent but I did decide to scan a few of my favorites from the stack.  We'll begin with this playing card of Chris "Spuds" Sabo.

I love playing games and Chris Sabo was my original favorite player (prior to Larkin) so this is a perfect card for me!

Dennis also sent along this 1984 Fleer card of Johnny Bench which I think is awesome - love the ESPN microphone that's barely visible in the photo.

The package from Dennis did include a couple of Larkin cards - but unfortunately for me they were both duplicates.  On the bright side, they are both listed on my TCDB trade bait page now so maybe I'll be able to turn them into Larkins I do need down the line.

Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't show off this Pokey Reese signature card:

Pretty cool stuff - and a fun package over all from Dennis.  I'm certainly glad that blog trading hasn't died off completely - Lord knows I don't want to have to move over to the wasteland that is otherwise known as Twitter!

Thanks for the cards, Dennis.  As for anyone else, if you would also like to complete an old fashioned blog trade, check out my want list and make an offer!

  1. I was a fan of Sabo's as a kid too. Although at this point I don't know if it was because of his play, or if I just really liked his goggles.
