30 MLB Teams in 30 Posts - 2022 Edition: #16

Welcome back to the next post in my 30 MLB Teams in 30 Posts countdown (plus the contest - see the bottom of the post for details on that).

#16:  Los Angeles Dodgers (Previous Rankings - 2019, 2020: #23, 18)

The Dodgers are one of the more interesting teams on my countdown in that they started off in the bottom ten and have now worked their way up to the middle of the rankings.  I'm not even exactly sure why - I guess I respect that the Dodgers keep trying to win and I do happen to like a lot of their players...plus they play late at night so I rarely actually see them play and therefore I haven't developed any unfair hatred for their team, players, stadium, etc.

I think the Dodgers have also gotten a bump in my ratings lately because there are still a number of active Dodger bloggers / traders out there.  It always helps to have people to trade with - and team collectors are some of my favorites to trade with simply because of the ease-of-trade:  "here's a bunch of your favorite team, enjoy"!

Finally, it's worth mentioning that Dodger Stadium is one of the current MLB stadiums that I'd to visit that I haven't yet had the chance to see in person (others on that list include the Diamondbacks, the Rockies, the Red Sox, and the Rangers).  I guess I need to plan a baseball trip out west sometime soon!

  1. I think it's the Padres.

  2. Yay, the Dodgers move up! ... Behind on the contest, haven't been reading a lot of posts lately. I'll guess the Blue Jays.

  3. Dodger Stadium is my #1 ballpark to visit. I did see the Dodgers play at Cincinnati in 1980.

I'll go Padres next...my guy Jake Cronenworth, from Michigan, has made me interest in watching them play.

  4. Star power? Gotta be Kurt Suzuki and company. #Angels

  5. If I did rankings, the Dodgers would have risen in them over the past few years just because of Night Owl's enthusiasm for them.

Man, I missed the last post!

I'll go with the Dodgers' crosstown rivals, the Angels. Star power doesn't shine much brighter than Ohtani and Trout.

  6. That descriptor sounds like the Los Anaheim Angels for sure. Lots of star power.... Not so much accomplishment

  7. Going with the Angels too...that Trout and Ohtani is just table-setting for the legendary Kurt!

  8. I'll take the Angels too.

  9. Those that guessed the Angels are correct!
