30 MLB Teams in 30 Posts - 2022 Edition: #7

Welcome back to the next post in my 30 MLB Teams in 30 Posts countdown (plus the contest - see the bottom of the post for details on that).

#7:  Tampa Bay Rays (Previous Rankings - 2019, 2020: #12, 6)

The Rays drop one spot in my rankings this year as compared to 2020 (the previous time that I compiled a full 30 team ranking).  I find the Rays to be a fascinating team - virtually no fans (and no one ever seems to trade for the Rays either) but they compete year-in and year-out with some of the biggest dollar market teams in baseball.  

I'll also admit to liking a lot of Rays hitters over the years, though if you roster any Rays on your fantasy baseball team they might drive you mad because you never know which players will actually play on any given day!  Still, the Rays are a lot of fun to watch and root for (especially against the Yankees and Red Sox).  If only I lived closer to Florida, I could see the Rays becoming a Top 5 team in my rankings!
