I've spread out the fun of ripping my box of 2000 Pacific but we've finally come to the day where I finish the box off. Once I rip through the final six packs, it'll be time for me to collate everything and update my binder...and then update my want list over on TCDB (and I'll probably be adding the set to my want list here as well).
Before I can do any of that though, I need to rip the last six packs!
Packs 19 - 24:
My favorite base card out of the final six packs was easy to decide - that Ken Griffey, Jr. card you see above. Simply stunning.
The final six packs also brought me two more serially numbered cards. The first was this Eugene Kingsale Gold Retail parallel numbered out of 199.
I've never heard of Mr. Kingsale before but maybe I can flip this one to an Orioles collector in exchange for the Larkin from the same set? Wishful thinking more likely.
The other serially-numbered card was this Platinum Blue parallel which is out of only 75!
I love the Platinum Blue parallels in Pacific so this was definitely a great pull for our box! Amazingly, that wasn't all I got in the final six packs...I also got a second Christmas Ornament from the box:
Yeah, a nice Chipper Jones ornament card (seeded 2:25 packs) finishes off the box.
Overall, this was a fun box rip though I did get a lot of base card duplicates. I'm hopeful that I'll make quite a dent into my overall want list for 2000 Pacific...and once I get everything sorted hopefully I can start trading back up in earnest over on TCDB (and here at Nachos Grande)!

It took me a decade or two to appreciate the photography on Pacific trading cards. Dating back to their early to mid 90's sets, they have some well-cropped action shots. That Griffey is another perfect example.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad way to end the box!
