The 1992 Pinnacle Rookie Idols insert set is a kind of neat idea that I'm surprised we haven't seen copied more often in the years since this particular set's release. The basic premise of the set is that a rookie is paired up with a veteran that they want to emulate. In Larkin's case, he was the idol of Phillies' rookie Kim Batiste (a name that I don't recall at all)...guess he didn't quite live up to Larkin's legacy!
According baseballcardpedia, the Rookie Idols were tough pulls (seeded 1:100 packs)! I'm not quite sure that the card design feels like it should be that tough of a card to find but hey, kind of cool years later to have something that's fairly rare (especially when you realize that it's an 18 card set...so perfect collation would suggest you'd need to rip about 1,800 packs to get all 18 cards). Good luck with that exercise!
