TCDB: Can I Ever Get Rid of 18,384 cards?!

Finishing the Box of 2000 Pacific: There's Gold in Them Packs!

It's finally time for me to finish off my personal box of 2000 Pacific baseball.  After a somewhat lackluster first half of the box (in terms of finding cards I need for my set), the third quarter of the box helped me out immensely (I did pull a 1:721 pack Cramer's Choice insert in the first half of the box though, that shouldn't be forgotten)!

Now, let's see if we can end on an even higher note for my base set!  I need 45 more base cards heading into the last quarter of the box.

2000 Pacific:
Packs 19 - 24:

In the end, I was able to find another nine cards that I needed for my base set leaving me only 36 cards short of having the full 500 card set.  Not bad - but I think I'm probably done buying boxes of 2000 Pacific at this point.  Hopefully, I'll be able to use TCDB (and/or my blog) to trade for the remaining cards I need.

In addition to the base cards, I pulled one parallel:  A gold parallel of David Justice #15/199.

That's a pretty nice card - and just maybe I can flip it for a Barry Larkin gold parallel from the set?  Probably a pipe dream but hey, gotta dream right?!

Finally, we end with the lone insert of the final six packs - and it's a good one!

That's a 1:25 pack Gold Crown Die-Cut insert of Rockies' great Larry Walker.  I love the shiny look of these - plus I'm a sucker for the die cut design!  Certainly a fun way to end what I have to say was a rather great box of 2000 Pacific!

At this point in time, here's what remains on my want list for the set:

2000 Pacific:
Base:  15, 25, 31b, 56, 64, 78, 104, 114, 123b, 143, 161, 175, 181, 195, 206, 222, 233, 281, 284b, 289, 294, 298, 305, 311, 322, 343, 349, 359, 365, 371, 373b, 377, 383, 396, 403, 432, 436, 440
Note:  All base wants listed above are the regular base cards unless denoted with a "b", the cards with a "b" are the image variations.
Ornaments:  1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

As you can see, I did end up adding in the 2000 Pacific Ornaments insert set as another set that I'm going to try and build.  As I get older, I find myself drawn even more to sets that are unique and those ornament cards are certainly unique!

That does it for the box - and now my 2000 Pacific trade stash has been replenished as well since I pulled a ton of duplicate base cards.  You can find that (and all my other trade bait) over on TCDB.

  2. That Larry Walker is really nice. If I had anything to trade you (I already looked, I don't), I'd try to get that Justice parallel from you. It's pretty nice, too!
