Editor's Note: I posted sign-ups for my next Breaker's Club which already has SEVEN different boxes included it (with more to come as more teams get sold)! Check it all out here.
First up, the last remaining base card for my 1999 Pacific set build.
With the Mike Lowell card now in my possession, I can happily say that I've officially completed three sets off of my want list this year already and it's only mid-January!
My next purchase was a trio of needed short print cards for the 2001 Topps HD set build:
I'm nearing the end of this set build - hopefully it'll be one that I can put to bed once and for all in 2023! In fact, I'm down to needing a single card - #106. Ivan Rodriguez. That one feels like a card I ought to be able to acquire without too much effort and expense, right?!
Back to the 1999 Pacific set, this time with an eye on the Team Checklist inserts which I also decided to try and build:
I love the simple look of the Team Checklist cards from the 1999 Pacific set - the little splash of team-specific colors really makes the entire thing sing for me. Thanks to the three cards that I was able to buy from Sportlots sellers, I'm now down to needing only one more card for this set as well (#11. Ken Griffey, Jr.). Unfortunately, Griffey is often a tough one to track down but hopefully I'll find an affordable copy sometime before the year 2023 is done.
That does it for this portion of my Sportlots order from late 2022. I've still got a bunch of various Barry Larkin cards from the same purchase to show off at a later date...hopefully I'll get to those in a more efficient manner as compared to how long it took me to show off today's batch of cards!

Those Topps HD cards are thick and heavy. What size box do you need to use to store that set? Best of luck tracking down that Pudge.
ReplyDeleteThey are sturdy, that's for sure! I keep almost all of my sets (included Topps HD) in binder pages. The cards are just thin enough that they'll fit in typical 9-pocket pages.
DeleteHappy completed set!
