This week marks the 1/3 mark of the spring semester which is always a good feeling. We are also firmly into the middle of February - which means January is completed and February will be done soon as well. More good news for someone who lives where the weather sucks during January and February! Basically, it's good news all-around...and I've got more good news since I was able to complete some more TCDB trades over the past week!
Let's dig in beginning with a swap with TCDB user B Goguen:
That's one of the last few 2022 Allen & Ginter mini cards that I still was missing. I'm not quite done with the various mini insert sets yet but I'm definitely within striking distance. It'd be great if I could finish off all the mini sets before the summer gets here! As for the subject of the card, I don't know much about Emmanuel Rivera, he's not one of the bigger names in the insert set (at least not to my knowledge). There is a Wander Franco in the set which I still need to track down (because of I course I do).
Next, from user WeepGang comes another 2022 A&G mini card, though this one isn't from one of the insert sets:
That's a Barry Larkin A&G back mini parallel. Topps has been including Barry Larkin in its Allen & Ginter brand for the last few years which means I get extra mini cards to track down! I still haven't fully updated my 2021 and 2022 Barry Larkin Collection but that's another project for another day. At least there will be one less card to put on my want list whenever I do get around to creating the full want list for those two years.
Still not done, next up from user reyjamiei comes yet another 2022 A&G mini:
Yep, my second needed mini from the 2022 A&G set which is annoyingly called "2006 A&G Rookie Design." Much like Rivera from the trade at the top of the post, I don't know much about Seth Beer either. I do love the throwback design of this insert set, even if it's Topps being lazy with Ginter! That probably makes me some sort of hypocrite but it is what it is I guess.
Now, let's move on to a set other than 2022 Ginter. My next trade was with user gardner0597 who sent me a political card:
That's a Joe Biden short print card from the 2009 Topps American Heritage set. I'm down to needing only the "modern" political inserts from the 2009 American Heritage set and I have to admit that my enthusiasm for such cards has plummeted to zero over the past decade. I'll still trade for the ones I need but this set isn't high on my list of interests (to be clear, the rest of the 2009 American Heritage set is still amazing, full of historical figures), it's just the modern political short prints that I'm weary of today.
Finally, we end the week's worth of trades with a swap with user engine614.
Yep, more 2022 Allen & Ginter mini cards! Two more Inside the Park inserts - and now that 32-card insert set is nearly complete (I still need one more card from the set as of the time of writing this post). This trade was particularly nice for me since I got more than a single card that I needed in one package! It's getting harder and harder to find people who have multiple cards that I need so I was happy to make this swap and get two of the last three Inside the Park minis I was missing all at once!
Overall, it was another solid week of trading to be sure! Happy to make solid progress on my 2022 A&G set build plus getting a random short print from a long-forgotten set was a nice bonus. Have a great Monday everyone!

Joe! Lol, for a half-second I wondered why he was in a 2008 election subset. I guess I'm so used to him as pres that I almost forgot he was Obama's VP :D
ReplyDeleteThose Inside the park minis are very nice.
