Once again, it's Monday. Seems like only last week around this time it was Monday, doesn't it?! Well, the good news here at Nachos Grande is that Monday's are for celebrating...celebrating TCDB mail packages from the week that was but is no more!
We'll start off with a PWE from TCDB user frankgifford:
I mailed off a bunch of extra 2000 Pacific base cards and in exchange was able to land a needed Barry Larkin card from 2005. This particular card is from the 2005 Donruss Greats set, a set that I know nothing about but will have to look into whenever I get around to featuring this card in my ongoing Barry Larkin Collection series!
Next up, another single-card PWE, this time from user ChicoSportsCards:
That's another new-to-me Barry Larkin card, this time though it's a bit fancier. First of all, it's from the brand new 2023 Topps set. Second, it's an insert. And third, it's actually a Gold parallel and is numbered out of 75 on the back of the card! I don't get serially numbered Larkin cards all that often over on TCDB so I am definitely happy to acquire this particular card.
Finally, we end with the third single-card PWE for me for the week, this time courtesy of user Easymoney2x:
Yep, another needed Barry Larkin card! That's a 2001 Donruss Class of 2001 Gold Sample, presumably one that came out of a magazine like Beckett (you know back in the day when magazines had baseball cards inside them). I feel like "sample" cards had their time in the sun in the 90s but I guess they existed into the 2000s, at least as far as Donruss products went. No matter, this is another nice "oddball" Barry Larkin card for my collection - happy to have it!
So that's the week in trading on TCDB! With those three trades done, I ended up mailing out 24 cards in total in order to take in only three cards...but when those three cards are needed Barry Larkin cards, that's a series of deals I'll willingly make over and over!
