A few days ago, I showed off the card you needed to pull from a pack in order to have a chance at winning the card you see today!  The Gold Contender cards were the prize if you pulled (and turned in) the correct Silver Contender cards...assuming you got lucky with the random draw.  After all, Leaf produced 10,000 of each Silver Contender card but only made 5,000 Gold Contender prize sets!  Apparently, each prize set came with a serially-numbered header card but the actual Gold Contender cards themselves are not serially-numbered.   

I do enjoy the various contests that baseball card companies have come up with over the years - especially when the prizes are something tangible such as a full set of cards.  I like it even better when those prize cards are A) not incredibly rare and B) well-designed.  In this case, I'd say that Leaf nailed it all around - fun little contest, nice prizes, and a good design!
